Abnaa Saida Association implemented the “Her Potential, Her Power” project under the IGNITE programme, with the aim of preventing school dropout and strengthening access to safe, inclusive, and continuous learning opportunities for vulnerable adolescent girls aged 10–18 in Saida and surrounding areas.

The project provided girls with a safe and supportive learning environment and integrated academic support in Arabic, English, Mathematics, Biology, Physics, and Chemistry, alongside a 200-hour English language programme, computer literacy training, life skills sessions, and psychosocial support. The project also engaged caregivers through awareness sessions addressing the importance of education, educational opportunities, positive parental involvement, girls’ empowerment, life skills, career guidance, and barriers to education.

Throughout the project, 161 vulnerable girls were identified and enrolled, while 83 girls completed the full pre- and post-assessment cycle. Among those assessed, 81 girls (97.6%) demonstrated improvement in English language skills, 78 girls (94%) demonstrated the ability to complete basic computer tasks independently, and 78 girls demonstrated improvement in life skills. In addition, 48 out of 50 assessed caregivers (96%) demonstrated increased knowledge of educational opportunities and ways to support their children’s education.

The project also contributed to community awareness around girls’ education and psychosocial wellbeing through a digital advocacy campaign that generated 30,711 views and reached 14,344 accounts. Feedback from participating girls highlighted the value of the safe learning environment, academic support, positive relationships, and increased confidence. The project supported girls in maintaining their engagement with education and strengthened families’ and communities’ awareness of the importance of girls’ continued access to learning opportunities.
