His and Her Future

Since 2018, Abnaa Saida Association (ASA) has implemented the “His and Her Future” project, in partnership with the United Nations Entity for Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women (UN Women) and Save the Children.

The project worked on two levels: first, the upbringing of children on new grounds, cultivating sound human rights values for their gender roles in their social/psychological structure, based on the principle of their human needs, not what society imposes, and the second level is influencing parents by several means to change their attitudes and perceptions about parenting and gender-based violence.

Through the project, the association was able to raise the awareness of 250 boys and girls from 8 to 11 years old by learning about the concepts of gender equality and gender-based violence and creating safe spaces for expression, entertainment, and participation.
