Abnaa Saida Association (ASA) implemented an awareness campaign titled “Let’s Talk”, in partnership with Masar Association and powered by UNFPA. The campaign targeted youth in Old Saida and aimed to enhance their well-being by improving their knowledge of topics related to sexual and reproductive health and contributing to the provision of health information and services related to the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV/AIDS), in addition to changing the mentality and attitudes of the youth concerning people infected with and living with AIDS to change the attitude of stigmatizing and discrimination against them.

The campaign included various activities targeting youth between 15 and 30 years old, local decision-makers, principals of private and public secondary schools in the city of Saida, officials of civil society organizations, and a number of mothers and parents of students.

The campaign distributed awareness brochures and implemented workshops in schools and clinics to increase knowledge about sexually transmitted diseases and ways to prevent them. It shared brief messages within Saida to encourage and urge the youth to contact and inquire about the campaign, in addition to field visits for coordination with decision-makers and presenting theatrical performances in the city to raise awareness about the dangers of AIDS, its transmission, and ways to prevent it.

The number of beneficiaries from the campaign’s activities reached 2,019 beneficiaries.
